UBC has confirmed that there will be two “Ultimate Bowls Weeks” in 2021.
With this, for the first time in the sport’s history a whopping 1 million dollars in prizemoney will be up for grabs across the two weeks of action-packed bowls.
The first Ultimate Bowls Week of 2021 will replace the scheduled week of 2020, this will be held on August 8th – 12th 2021 at Warilla, NSW
The final events of 2021 will be staged at the magnificent Deer Park Club on December 13th – 17th. Ultimate Bowls CEO Mark Casey was delighted with the news “It’s incredibly unfortunate to not have any UBC events in 2020 after such an incredible inaugural year, but to be able to secure suitable dates today to stage two fantastic weeks of bowls is a great feeling. It gives us all something to look forward to.”
“To be able to say we will be paying out 1 million dollars in prizemoney across the two weeks is quite unbelievable, and something our sport can really promote.”
“Each week will include three full events, it’s going to be incredible. After such a challenging time, we are looking forward to putting some smiles back on the faces of bowls lovers from across the world.”
Casey confirmed “The decision to host the first week of events in August was due to the uncertainty of when travel restrictions will begin to ease. As we have some many International teams and players involved with the UBC, it was important we gave ourselves as long as possible so hopefully our International friends are able to travel.”
