Gary Kelly

He has Commonwealth and World Cup medals and is in red hot form. In 2019 he won the All Ireland Indoor Singles and Pairs titles and in March was undefeated in taking out the World Cup Singles Title at Warilla, NSW where he is currently living.

Gary plays most games as skip. His BPL form has been outstanding where his ability to pull off the big shot consistently comes through.

Kelly moved to Australia after the 2018 Commonwealth Games and won the delayed 2020 Australian triples title with Corey Wedlock and Brendan Aquilina at the Australian National Bowls Championships.

In 2022, he competed in the men’s singles and the men’s triples at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Later in 2022, he won his first title at the Australian Open and also won the singles and triples at the European Bowls Championships.

In 2023, he was selected as part of the team to represent Ireland at the 2023 World Outdoor Bowls Championship. He participated in the men’s singles and the men’s pairs events. In the pairs with Adam McKeown, they topped their group before going on to win the gold medal, defeating Australia in the final. One week later, in the singles he went on to win the silver medal after losing the final to Ryan Bester.

Barrie Lester

Barrie is generally recognised as an outstanding front-end player. He has a passion for the game that is unequalled. He’s lean, muscular, has a sharp haircut and an even sharper jaw.

If you saw him down the street you would think he was an elite athlete, and you’d be right.

He has an amazing record at the international level.

In 2016 he was part of the triples team with Aron Sherriff and Mark Casey who won the silver medal at the 2016 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Christchurch and won another silver medal in the fours.

He has represented Australia four times at the Commonwealth games. Barrie won a bronze medal in the pairs with Nathan Rice at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

Further success came as part of the Australian team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland where he won two silver medals in the Triples and the Fours.

In 2022, he competed in the men’s triples and the men’s fours at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Barrie along with Carl Healey and Ben Twist won the silver medal.

Ellen Fife

Ellen has proven to be an Aussie in a hurry. At just 27 years of age she has a string of national and International achievements to her name.

She made her international debut during the 2017 Australia versus England Test Series and the same year won the Australian Open singles and pairs titles. She was the first person to hold both the indoor and outdoor world under-25 singles titles simultaneously.

In 2019 she won the Australian National Bowls Championships fours. In 2020 she was selected for the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Australia.

Ellen was the star Australian at the Birmingham Commonwealth games where she picked up a golden double. She won both singles and pairs Gold medals in dramatic fashion in both matches. The pairs with best mate Kristina Krstic.

In 2023, she was selected again as part of the team to represent Australia at the 2023 World Outdoor Bowls Championship. She participated in the women’s singles and the women’s pairs events. In the singles, she won her group to reach the semi finals.

Ellen has taken a break from BPL duties to take care of a new addition to the family.

The Coach Jeremy Henry

Jeremy Henry took over as coach in 2022. Henry has achieved major success in the sport winning two gold medals in the World Outdoor Bowls Championship and three Commonwealth Games medals.

In 1996 he won the gold in the pairs with Sammy Allen at the 1996 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Adelaide, Australia. Four years later he won a second gold at the 2000 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in the singles in Johannesburg, South Africa.

As a player he has been around the BPL scene for many years. Having him on board as coach brings another level of support to the team.

In his second attempt in the coaches seat Jeremy was instrumental in Pulse securing the BPL 15 title. The team backed that up with more titles at BPL16 and 19.
