We’re excited to kick off our Club Championships, and we want to make sure you’re all in the loop. We’ve made a few tweaks to the format this year, based on your feedback, so let’s dive in.
First off, we’ve got nine fantastic events lined up for you:
1. Major Singles (Women’s and Men’s)
2. Minor Open Singles
3. Pairs (Women’s and Men’s)
4. Open Triples
5. Mixed Pairs
6. Mixed Triples
7. Open Fours (single entry)
8. 100 Up Handicapped Open Singles
9. Open Novice Singles (if we get enough players)
We’re starting with the Open Fours, just like last year. It’ll be single-name entry, and we’ll balance the teams to keep things fair. We’re aiming for 64 players, so get your names in! And the best part? It’s free for members and coincides with our Club Pennant Season Launch.
Now, we heard you about the busy schedule last year, and we have brought back the novice event, so we need to spread things out a bit. We have made some changes to the pairs events, which will start with sectionals on Saturdays and Sundays, and for those playing singles, we will kick off with the early rounds played on a single Sunday.
Don’t worry, though – most games will still be on Thursday nights. We’ll have five or six rinks under the roof on the Daly/Dunlop Green, with some matches on the Shanahan Green from early October. This change comes from your survey feedback – we know there are some who want time to practice and train after 7pm on Thursdays.
For the knockout stages, if Thursday doesn’t work for you, feel free to arrange another day with your opponent. We’re flexible!

We’d love to see everyone get involved this year – it’s a great chance to challenge yourself and have some fun with your fellow bowlers. Entry is now open for the open triples and single entry fours. Keep an eye out for the dates for the other events that will open soon.
