Plenty on the Gold Coast
A record number of bowlers from the Dandenong Club are on the Gold Coast having a crack at the world’s biggest and richest Festival of Bowls.
There are 16 players who represented the Dandenong Club in pennant teams last year and recruit Sammy Atkinson is also there. They include Kris Piane, Nicole McKenzie, Matt Arnold, Shane Carter, Britt Jago, Scott Guymer, Brenton McKenzie, Phil Cookson, Paul Meyers, Jeff Thompson, Anthony Lee, Mark Petty, Annette McCormack, Ray Arnold, John Curtain, and Jaryd Davies. There are four more who were part of the Club’s UBC and BPL teams 2024 in Sean Ingham, Gary Kelly, Barrie Lester and Ellen Ryan,

The men’s singles commenced on Saturday, 8th June. Through to the knockout rounds today were Britt Jago (section 73), Mark Petty (Section 44), and Kris Paine (Section 89). Shane Carter and John Curtain missed out. Sean Ingham (Section 105) and Barrie Lester (section 35) also made it through
Sunday, the 9th, has more men’s singles sectionals. In action will be Brenton McKenzie (section 142), Phil Cookson (section 151), Jeff Thompson (section 161)Paul Meyers (section 187).
On Monday 10th, Anthony Lee (section 256), Scott Guymer (section 308) Jarryd Davies (section 322) and Matt Arnold (section 313) get their turn.
