Dandenong Club on the World Stage.
Dandenong Club is gearing up for a thrilling time on the world stage as we host the Ultimate Bowls Championship right here in Melbourne. It’s not just any tournament—it’s the world’s richest bowls event, and we’re absolutely buzzing to be part of it again! Over six exciting days and nights, we’ll welcome more international superstars than ever before. With a whopping $280,000 in prize money at stake, you can bet Dandenong Club will be right in the mix.
We’re thrilled to announce our Blue team lineup: regulars Gary Kelly and Barrie Lester, both Commonwealth Games medalists, are joined by none other than Harry Goodwin from England, currently ranked eighth in the world. It’s a powerhouse team that’s sure to make waves come finals time.
Our Orange team is brimming with potential too! We’ve got Australian representative Sammy Atkinson teaming up with 2024 Australian Indoor Title holder Jack McShane. Completing this dynamic trio is Aaron Betts—a 20-year-old Scottish international who’s also one of our very own resident players here at Dandenong Club.
The championship kicks off with three back-to-back two-day events starting Sunday, December 1st and wrapping up on December 6th. Best of all? Entry is free! So come along for some top-notch bowls action—grab some food and drinks while you’re at it—and cheer on your favourites as they compete for glory!
