The Dandenong Club was awarded the esteemed Excellence in Innovation at the Community Clubs Victoria (CCV) 2024 Gala Awards.
Held on Saturday, 6 July 2024 at the RACV City Club, Dandenong Club was awarded the winner’s trophy for Excellence in Innovation Award at the CCV Awards Night. The respected industry event represents more than 1,000 licenced clubs across metropolitan and regional Victoria.
The award acknowledged Dandenong Club’s ability to create increased exposure for the club through creating livestreams of their team’s lawn bowls tournaments, for spectators to watch at home.
The CCV Awards Night offers an opportunity for Clubs and their employees to celebrate their achievements through several different award categories, including sustainability, entertainment, social impact, well-being and more.
This highly anticipated annual event recognises and celebrates the outstanding achievements of individuals and clubs in the industry. This prestigious event provides a platform to showcase and acknowledge their hard work, dedication, and significant contributions of the recipients working towards the betterment and growth of the club industry and social and economic well-being of their Victorian communities.
Dandenong Club Chief Executive Officer Andrew Breeden-Walton said that in 2024, the Dandenong Club purchased an in-house livestreaming setup to enhance our coverage of local bowls competitions. Charlie Daly our club president was proud to accept the award on behalf of the Dandenong Club.
“The $10,000 investment in professional hardware from VideoCraft, including cameras, a switcher, a sound mixer, and mics, allows for high-quality weekly streaming of tournaments, enhancing the club’s image and attractiveness for competitions,” said Mr Breeden-Walton.
“This technological advancement, implemented by the young bowls administration team, has significantly increased the club’s exposure on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
“The livestreaming has provided a professional viewing experience for major tournaments, improving engagement and showcasing the club’s facilities and offerings.”
CCV Chief Executive, Andrew Lloyd said the awards night provided the appropriate platform for Clubs to be recognised for their hard work.
“We believe in reward for efforts and the appreciation of our clubs and members as they continue to persevere in a challenging operational climate for businesses,” said Mr. Lloyd.
“We are pleased to once against host this prestigious awards night, honouring the exceptional efforts of individual and clubs whose contributions have had a profound impact on our local communities.

CCV encompasses a vast network of over 1,000 Community Clubs across Victoria, 30,000 employees and serves approximately 2.3 million members. These Clubs collectively contribute $1 billion to the state economy, including community donations, subsidised access to facilities and volunteer work.
