Australia Day Holiday Open Fours

This event is played at Dandenong Club with 32 entrants of teams of four.

Cost to enter is $120 per team.

The event includes a seated luncheon. Players in the morning session will have lunch after the completion of their third match, and afternoon players will have lunch prior to their matches from 1pm. Lunch – Roast Lunch with Fruit Salad as dessert.

Prize Pool totals $6000.

This is a tier 4 rated Bowls Australia Event.

The day will run by having a morning session from 9AM to 1.30PM with 3 games of 10 ends and 80 minutes allocated per match. Lunch will be provided for all players during 1PM and 2PM. An afternoon session of play will commence at 2.30PM with the same rules applying as per morning session

Presentation of awards at 7pm after the completion of the afternoon session.

CONDITIONS OF PLAY

All Matches will be played under the current edition of the Laws of the Sport of Bowls, Bowls Australia Domestic Regulations, Bowls Victoria Rules for Competition and Conditions of Play.

1. Attire: Bowls Victoria Regulations for Attire apply.
2. The draw to be undertaken on Wednesday the 25th of January by the tournament committee of John Fleming, Chris Wallace and Rob Sharpe.
3. Briefing will commence at 8:40am for the morning session and 1:40 for the afternoon session.
4. Each session will have one trial end in each direction, fifteen minutes prior to the start time. Players will use two bowls each before the first game. No other trial ends are allowed.
5. Re-spotting the Jack. There will be no dead ends caused by Jack displacement. The jack will be re-spotted in accordance with Law 56.5 and placed 2 metres from the ditch on the centre line of the rink, and play will continue.
6. After each game, skips are to ensure that scorecards correspond, and then the winning skip will return both cards to the Tournament office located outside the function room main door before commencing the next game.
7. The following games are to commence as soon as the designated rink becomes available.
8. The winners will be decided on shots up, receiving 10 points for a win and 5 points for a tie. Each team shall receive an additional one point for each end won in each match. The overall winner will be the team with the highest number of points. If teams are equal on points, the winners are determined by shots up, then shots up divided by shots against.
9. Prizes are awarded for 1st prize: $2400, 2nd prize $1200, 3rd prize $840. Best margin for each round $260
10. No team can win more than one prize.
11. One match per round will be livestreamed to the Dandenong Club Facebook page.
12. The Controlling Body has the right to alter the conditions of play if necessary.
13. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any team nomination
