Gary Kelly, the Melbourne Pulse skip, has won the MVP award at the Bowls Premier League 19 (BPL19), held at Moama Bowling Club in February 2024. Originally from Northern Ireland but now happily calling Australia home Gary was the stand out performer of the tournament, leading his side to its third BPL title and, along the way earning 39 votes from a possible 54.
Gary, who has now competed in his 10th BPL event with Melbourne Pulse, was previously an MVP runner-up at BPL16 but broke through at Moama with a consistently brilliant display of bowls. He was the clear winner over other contenders , finishing five votes clear of a trio of runners up: Aaron Wilson (Sydney) Aron Sherrif Moama and Wayne Ruediger (Adelaide).
He was also named in the BPL19 All Star team along with Wilson, Dawn Hayman (Moreton Bay) and Pulse team Coach Jeremy Henry and assistant Andrew Breeden-Walton.
