Men’s Pairs Action
Today, the men were out and about in the pairs events on Day four, and it was a mixed bag for the Dandenong crew and friends. Matty Arnold and Shane Carter managed to get their three wins on the board in a very tough draw, so they will move into the knockout rounds that commence next week. Despite some solid performances, the McKenzie brothers, the Cooksons, the Paul Meyer/ Wayne Fogarty combination, Rob Wilson and Anthony Lee, John Cashion and Steve Garcia, and the Jaryd Davies/Steve O’Brien pairing were not so fortunate.
Gary Kelly, teaming up with Warilla teammate Corey Wedlock, Sean Ingham, and Sean Baker, won their way, though. The pairs sectionals will be completed tomorrow.
Ray (Radar) Arnold is on the green for the first time in this Oz Open
Ray Arnold teams up with Kris Paine (section 104), Britt Jago, who looks in great form, combines with Scott Guymer( section 121), whilst Barrie Lester and Bundoora’s Ben Huber (section 113) get their shot at a place in the knockout rounds.
Womens Singles
Tomorrow’s Day Five action will feature our 2023 Vic state rep in Nics McKenzie (section 94) at Beenleigh, Annette McCormack (section 26), who was new to our pennant teams in 2023/24 will be at Broadbeach and Indoor Mixed Pairs World Champ and Emerging Jackaroo, Sammy Atkinson (section 118) who has recently joined us for the upcoming summer from Richmond Union.
Sammy joins the Dandenong Club from Richmond Union.
