Night and Twilight Bowls Double Header at Dandenong Club
We’ve got an exciting weekend lined up at the Dandenong Club on November 1 and 2, and you won’t want to miss it. It’s a brilliant chance to catch some top-notch pennant bowls action and we’ve made some changes to our playing times to get more bowls fans engaged. Our number one team is gearing up for a double-header, with matches under the roof on Friday night against Lilydale at 6:45 and again on Saturday at 4:00 pm when we play Heathmont.
We’ve got a star-studded lineup representing the club this year. You’ll see three-time Commonwealth Games medalist Barrie Lester in action, alongside English champion Harry Goodwin, who’s ranked 8th in the world. Sammy Atkinson will also be playing; she was a semi-finalist in the 2024 World Indoor Championships and snagged gold in the mixed pairs. Plus, we’ve added two Scottish internationals to our ranks—Aaron Betts and Blair Davidson is back with us! And let’s not forget our seasoned regulars like Victorian State rep Nics McKenzie—there’s plenty to get excited about!
Last season we made it to the semi-finals in Bowls Victoria’s Premier Reserve competition, and we’re aiming even higher this year. These matches are crucial for kick-starting our new season with some solid victories.
The bars will be open, there’ll be loads of food available, and Friday night promises live music after the match—what more could you ask for? It’s a fantastic opportunity to see local bowls at its finest and just how much the game has changed. Entry is free, so we encourage all our members and guests to come along and cheer on our bowlers!
