The Commonwealth Games are a fabulous TV event for bowls fans, and they will be coming live to your screens on Friday 29th. Melbourne Pulse is well represented, with all three of our team members representing their country.

Ellen Ryan begins her sectional play in the singles on Friday 29th, as does Barrie Lester in his third Comm. Games. He joins Carl Healey and Ben Twist in the triples. These events run daily, with medals decided for both events on Monday, August 1.

They are both back into competition play the following day. Ellen Pairs up with Kristina Krstic, and Barrie leads the fours in a team chock full of talent with Carl Healey, Corey Wedlock and Ben Twist as skip. Those competitions continue to Sat, August 6.

The other Melbourne Pulse representative is Gary Kelly, representing Northern Ireland. He plays the Men’s singles and Triples. Wouldnt that be great to see Gary front up to Australia’s Aaron Wilson in a gold medal match.

And if you are wondering about the team’s golden hair.   It’s all about “See Gold, Think Gold, Win Gold”

Best of luck to Ellen, Barrie and Gary in their quest for Gold! It will be a fabulous eight days of lawn in Birmingham.
