Dandenong Club bowlers shone brightly at regional and state competitions this year. None more so than our Bowls Operations Manager Nicole McKenzie, who was part of the Sandbelt Region Pairs and Fours Champion teams. Venturing to Bendigo for the state finals, she met the eventual winners of the fours first up and was knocked out. But there was better news in Women’s pairs, where, together with Clayton’s Courtney Binnington, they went down in the final by just two shots.

In a year where Nicole earned State representation, Nicole was also the Sandbelt Singles Runner-Up and represented Vic Metro against Vic Country.

Jan Rolph put up an outstanding performance to claim the Sandbelt Champion of Champions Singles Runner-Up title, while Gordon Thomson, Will Scibberas, and Michael Stevenson were Runners-Up in the Sandbelt Region Triples finals.

Hastings’ Sharon Jarvis, who joined Dandenong Club last season as part of our successful top Tuesday pennant team, won the State triples and was a semi-finalist in the fours, representing Mornington Peninsula.

We are incredibly proud of the efforts of Dandenong Club bowling members and of how well they are competing at the regional and state levels.  It’s “rare air” for Dandenong Club and reward for a commitment to player development through the club and the extent of our bowls program.
