Dandenong Club is making plenty of impact around the nation with the performance of our Bowls Premier League team Melbourne Pulse. The Club first entered Australia’s premier bowls competition in 2019. Current team Members are Australian Jackaroos Ellen Ryan and Barrie Lester, who team up with champion Irishman Gary Kelly. All three were medalists at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022. The team is coached by former world champion Jeremy Henry.
Melbourne Pulse travels next to Moama to play from February 20 to 24 in BPL17. We went with the added pressure of back-to-back wins in 2022 when we took out BPL15 and BPL. It is always tough to win in a competition that includes most of the world’s best
In recent events, The Pulse has found a way to win the big points. Ellen and Barrie have been excellent up front, with Gary managing the heavy work at the back end of matches.
BPL17 will be another massive challenge for the team, but they are genuinely excited about. For bowls fans, it is a fabulous opportunity to see the world’s best in an action-packed format, where every bowls matter and games can be one or lost with just one mistake.
